Harris Health is seizing 8.9 acres of Hermann Park for a new building, but there are other options.

Help us protect our scarce parkland.

The 8.9 acres are the future site of important park amenities.

Harris Health is condemning nearly 9 acres of Hermann Park to create space for 100 more patient beds for Ben Taub Hospital,
to be funded by public bond money.

Taxpayers voted for a $2.5 billion bond for Harris Health in 2023, but the bond description stated that the funds would be used to renovate Ben Taub’s current building.
It did not mention building beyond the current campus, or seizure of parkland.

Harris Health has other options.
Hermann Park is a Houston treasure.
